The Y massage therapist’s offer a variety of massage techniques to relax you after a hard work out or to soothe tight, aching muscles.
The Y’s massage sessions are a blend of therapeutic and energetic modalities which work together to empower the client, helping them achieve their desired goals, and giving them practical strategies for self care. Our massage therapists provide a nurturing and healing atmosphere in a private room. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing. When your life energy is low, it is more difficult to deal with stress, you may not sleep well, and you are more susceptible to illness. When your life energy is strong, you feel strong, can more easily deal with stress and less likely to get sick. Reiki is a technique that increases a person’s supply of life energy. The Reiki Practitioner places their hands at locations around the head and shoulders, the abdomen and on the legs and feet. Tissue is not manipulated. Practitioner’s hands are simply held at each location, lightly touching or slightly away from the body. A Reiki session feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that surrounds and fills the client and includes feelings of relaxation, peace and well-being that also promote healing.
Balance & Stretch
is a gentle and relaxing stretch movement class, with a component to help maintain flexibility and balance at the core. (W)
This half-hour class offers flexibility training to tone and stretch the muscles. A gentle mat workout, this class is appropriate for all adults, even those with some physical limitations. (W)
Free Yoga for Members
Our instructors focus on gentle movement, breath, relaxation and meditation through styles suitable for beginner and intermediate levels. For unifying body, mind and spirit; increasing flexibility and mobility; and reliving stress, yoga is the perfect practice.
