YMCA Summer Camp Families – Unplug at Y Camps!
It is a pleasure to welcome you to our Summer Camps for 2018! We are very excited for your child(ren) to spend the summer with us. We have planned a terrific summer of programming for your children at our three camps. There are a few changes to our policies and procedures so please read this packet to be informed.
Summer Camp, like many Y programs, is about learning skills, developing character and making friends. But few environments are as special as camp, where kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group as they engage in physical, social and educational activities. There isn’t a better way to “unplug” your child from their video screens than at a Y Day Camp. Camp activities teach self-reliance, along with the development of attitudes that build character and leadership—all amidst the fun of swimming, playing, talent shows and meaningful relationships. Y Camp Staff are dedicated to making sure camp is an amazing experience for every camper.
All of the activities that take place during the summer will have the foundation of themes that have been planned out by our Camp Directors and YMCA Program Committee. It is our goal to introduce each camper to a variety of daily activities that reflect the Y mission and character values. In doing so, the activities will provide a level of supervision and structure that will offer many different challenges to your children during their time at camp.
Different Camps need separate sets of registration forms. If your child attends different types of camp they will need a set of forms for each camp. If your children attend Gymnastics Camp for a week then Camp Apex, they will need two sets of forms. You can fill out one packet and then photo copy as many sets as you will need including physical and Immunization forms.
Multiple weeks of the same camp only need one set of forms. If your child is attending more than one week of the same camp only one set of forms is needed.
Deposits are required. A $40 deposit is required, per each week of camp, when registering your child. A $10 deposit per week is due if approved for camp Sliding Fee Scale support ($5/week for voucher). Financial Aid/State Child Care Voucher is on a first come first served basis while funds are available.
